Next October 21, 22, 23 and 24, 2020, will be held in Mahón (Menorca - Spain) the International Congress ICOFORT Spain 2020 (VII Conference of Fortifications Association of Friends Castle of Montjuïc and International Congress of ICOFORT), whose program will deal with the divulgation of military landscapes and the management and conservation models of their surrounding areas and environment at the national and international scope.
The Association of Friends of the Castle of Montjuïc / ICOFORT International of Spain invites all academics and professionals interested in the debate about the fortified heritage to present their communications at the congress. All duly accepted communications will be published in the conference proceedings with ISBN, upon payment of the registration fee of at least one author. Contributions received after the deadlines may not be included in the conference proceedings. The official languages of the congress are Spanish and English, however you can use other languages, only in the oral presentation without simultaneous translation. For a better understanding, if the presentation has texts, they will be written in English or Spanish. The sessions will be divided into four themes, which will be the following:
Theme 1. Historical research (military architecture, territory and landscape)
Theme 2. Environmental management of military heritage
Theme 3. Conservation and re-use (military architecture and natural environment)

Interested in submitting abstracts must do so before the deadline of August 10, 2020 by filling out the registration form for the Announcement.

NOTE OF THE ORGANIZING COMMITTEE: If the program could not be carried out on the recommendation of the relevant authorities due to the COVID-19 health crisis, all the money from the registration fees made would be returned. In this case, the congress will be postponed to 2021. |
