One of the documents mentions the existence of slaves in a mine in the area of Quijos (near the Ecuadorian Amazon basin) towards 1681 in Box 7 file 6; A second document reports that a slave had been imprisoned in the city of Guayaquil towards 1747, Box 15, file 16. A third document reports that a slave had been handed over as part of a debt, among others.
