Ecuador - Report

This historic document is a report by the Lieutenant Governor of Esmeraldas, addressed to the President of the Royal High Court, referring to the circumstances that prevented the auction of the hacienda Molino. It also reports on the steps taken to make the slaves of the Playa de Oro and Guinvi mines contribute with an annual pension to cover the expenses of royal troops.

Heritage document in the National Archive of Ecuador in the series called Haciendas (landed estates), Box 118, File 7, number of pages 8.

This document is dated precisely in the years of the struggles for independence and it allows us to know that they requested the support of the slaves who were working in the mines to support the King's troops.
