No single state of conservation may be stated. The state of conservation depends, generally speaking, on the historical period in question. In certain cases the condition should be termed as bad because of the deterioration caused by time and the materials used at the time, others are in better condition.  In general, conservation standards are applied to avoid further deterioration and the documents that are damaged are being restored progressively.

The Archive offers services in a reading room to specialists and state institutions, as well as private individuals who request such service.

Periodicals published by the institution

Bulletin of the National Archive. Established in 1901 it is considered one of the earliest in the Americas. In its pages one may find general information and articles of interest regarding the archives, conservation and historical research. A digital version of the bulletin is currently being developed.
