Cuba - Ruinas del Ingenio La Demajagua (Ruins of La Demajagua sugar mill)

On October 10th, 1868, at the La Demajagua sugar mill, Carlos Manuel de Céspedes (1819-1874), Father of the Homeland, gave freedom to his slaves and summoned them to fight for the emancipation of the Island of Cuba from Spanish colonialism. The ruins of a sugar mill and a museum site are preserved.
