Dominican Republic - Ruins of Engombe

The Engombe sugar mill is one of the most important examples of the Dominican industrial heritage from colonial times. For several centuries it was dedicated to the manufacturing of sugar. The area corresponding to the ruins occupies around 5.91 square kms.
