Ecuador - Tea Abolición de la Esclavitud (Torch Abolition of Slavery)

The monument pays homage to the decree regarding the abolition of slavery in Ecuador, signed by president José María Urbina in 1851, based on one of its recitals that reads:  “that the few slave men that still exist are in contradiction of the republican institutions that we have conquered and adopted since 1820”.
