Cultural Policies
The integration of intercultural dialogue and cultural diversity into the national policies of member States in the region is one of the main lines of actions of UNESCO that our Office implements through a number of projects aimed at integrating Culture into the United Nations Development Assistance Framework (UNDAF) through joint programmes within the context of the United Nations System in each country in the region; disseminate and promote knowledge about the tragedy of the slave trade and the rich legacy of the slaves in the region, strengthen the UNESCO Slave Route project in the area; and facilitate capacity building programmes and modalities of intercultural dialogue and religious dialogue at the local, national and regional levels.
