The Natural History Museum of Jamaica (NHMJ) formerly the Natural History Division was established in 1879 as one of the original and the oldest organization of the Institute of Jamaica. The NHMJ has a vast collection of some 130,000 plant specimens and over 31,000 animal specimens collections.
Objetivo:
Advance scientific research and education by collecting, storing and maintaining specimens of Jamaica’s plants and animals and educating Jamaicans on the importance of preserving the Island’s natural history.
