  General Information:

The African Caribbean Institute of Jamaica (ACIJ) was established in 1972. In 1990 the Jamaica Memory Bank was incorporated to form ACIJ/JMB

The ACIJ/JMB offers the following products / services:

- A reference library
- Conducts lectures for visiting researchers
- Actively involved in outreach activities, where the community’s activities are recorded and analyzed and are made available to the public as reference
- Mount temporary Exhibitions/Displays
- Publishes the research

 
  Objective:

To deepen public awareness of the contribution of African cultural retention to the Jamaican social ethos.
