On 6-7 November, the First Cultural Festival of the Common Market of the South (MERCOSUR) will be held in Asunción, Paraguay. This country has made the commitment to inaugurate, during its pro-tempore presidency, the first edition of this festival, combining several components and opportunities.
The Festival programme will comprise film screenings, exhibitions, South American payadores and the musical participation of national and international artists.
Some of the abovementioned components are:
- the Special IBERMÚSICAS Project, which includes a Regional Music Meeting;
- the declaration of the Payada and the Guaraní Jesuit Missions of Moxos and Chiquitos as MERCOSUR Cultural Heritage;
- the project “Beyond the War. Memory, Reflection and a Culture of Peace”;
- the inauguration of MERCOSUR’s Digital Cinema Network.
