Objective:
This Institute was created in May 19th, 1946 in accordance with Decree 3545 as Teatro Escuela de Arte Nacional, Don Emilio Aparicio Martínez was its first principal. He leaved the Institute in 1961 in order to contribute to the cultural development of the Dominican people through artistic education in the dramatic arts field.
Thus, this School is in charge of teaching students the technical artfulness necessary to become members of state or independent groups and increase its artistic quality. At the same time, it guarantees a methodological teaching which contributes to dignify the theatre technician work and its national and international scope. As well, it promotes among the different social sectors of the country the enthusiasm for the Escuela Nacional de Teatro (National Theatre School).
