General Information:
The Belize Archives Department (BAD) came into existence in late 1965. The staff of the public library assisted in organising and operating the Archives Unit, until it change its name to the Belize Archives and Records Service (BARS) in September 2006.
The type of collections that the BARS hosts are general information about Belize namely: legal and government information, photos and postcards, audiovisual materials,
land leases and fiats, government records and private collections.
Exhibitions are carried out through the year according to national events and interest.
