Abdala is a play of patriotic theme published by Martí when he was 15 years old

As part of the celebrations for the 156th anniversary of José Martí's birth, occurred in Havana on January 28, 1853, a new edition of Abdala was presented at the Centro de Estudios Martianos (Center for Studies on José Martí). This multilingual edition was prepared by the Cuban Association of Translators and Interpreters (ACTI) together with the José Martí Publishing House.
Gisela Odio, president of ACTI, and Pedro Pablo Rodríguez, author of the prologue and general director of the critical edition of the Complete Works of the Cuban revolutionary leader, thinker and writer were in charge of the presentation. Attending the ceremony were Milagros Franco, director of ESTI (Translation and Interpretation Services Team), the translators who worked in the edition, representatives of institutions related and other personalities.
Abdala is a play of patriotic theme, the first written by José Martí when he was 15 years old, and published in the only issue of newspaper La Patria Libre, on 23 January 1869. The new edition includes the original text and translations into Arab, English, French, German, Italian and Portuguese made by members of the Association of Translators and Interpreters.
