Alfredo Pérez de Armiñán, Assistant Director-General for Culture, visited the New Latin American Cinema Foundation (FNCL) during his stay in Cuba on the occasion of the 3rd Meeting of Ministers of Culture of the Community of Latin American States and the Caribbean (CELAC). He was accompanied by Olga Rufins Machin, National Programme Officer and Coordinator of the Portal of Culture of the Regional Office of the United Nations agency and Josefina Vilaboy, chief specialist of the Ministry of Culture.
The visit responds to the relations of collaboration that have existed for almost three decades between UNESCO and the Foundation and strengthens their continuity in several aspects of the film and audiovisual industry in the region.
Alquimia Peña, FNCL director, presented Pérez de Armiñán with a copy of the third edition of the book Cine comunitario en América Latina y el Caribe [Community Cinema in Latin America and the Caribbean], the result of a recent homonymous research carried out by the FNCL Observatory of the Latin American Film and Audiovisual with the support of the International Fund for Cultural Diversity.
