The UNESCO Regional Office in Havana publishes its Annual Report 2023, with the satisfaction of sharing the results of this year of intense collective work, achievements and progress in the projects in which we have participated in Cuba and the Dominican Republic in the fields of culture, education, natural sciences, communication and social sciences; in the Caribbean, with the Transcultura programme, financed by the European Union, and in the region, with several activities developed in this field.
2023 was also a year of numerous international events, including back-to-back meetings of Ministers of Education and Culture, as well as the Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Group of 77 and China, in which UNESCO had a significant participation and the presence and interventions of the Director of the UNESCO Regional Office for Education in Latin America and the Caribbean (OREALC), Claudia Uribe Salazar, the Director of the World Heritage Centre, Lazare Eloundou Assomo, and the Deputy Director-General for Natural Sciences of UNESCO, Lidia Brito, respectively.
