Saint Vincent and the Grenadines commemorate bicentennial anniversary of the abolition of transatlantic slave trade

19 March 2007/ UNESCO Regional Office for Culture in Latin America and the Caribbean

A comprehensive program of activities is being developed in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines for the commemoration in 2007 of the bicentennial anniversary of the abolition of transatlantic slave trade.

The program, inaugurated on January 23 will extend until 27 March and includes lectures, workshops for high school professors and the concert Songs of Freedom , which will take place on 25 March, International Day for the Commemoration of the Event.
