The UNESCO World Heritage Centre in cooperation with Mar Viva Foundation will organize the Caribbean World Heritage Youth Project on Marine Biodiversity & Climate Change from 25 to 29 January 2016 in Panama.

The initiative aims to create stronger links between Caribbean and Central American Small Island Developing States (SIDS) by empowering young people and their organizations through the implementation of the Project and the development of a specialized training workshop course for youth on the topic.

Young people from 17 Caribbean and Central American SIDS can participate: Barbados, Belize, Cuba, Costa Rica, Dominica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia and Suriname. .

The activity will propose new approaches in raising awareness and in-depth insights on conservation of marine biodiversity and climate change impacts on World Heritage through the active youth participation with practical hands-on activities.
