Basic Workshop on the Audio and Visual Recording and Cataloguing of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, organised by CRESPIAL. Cusco, Peru, 15-20 November, 2010
 

From 15 to 20 November the "Basic Workshop on the Audio and Visual Recording and Cataloguing of the Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH)" was held in the city of Cusco, attended by cultural managers working on registration tasks, field anthropologists and field researchers in charge of documentary collections designated by the Focal Nuclei.

The workshop, organised by the Regional Centre for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Latin America (CRESPIAL), was aimed at strengthening the technical teams with training in ICH registry and documentation methods through the use of interview techniques, community and group involvement, the use of audio and photographic equipment, basic concepts for documenting the information and guided practices on each topic.

The team of specialists conducting the workshop was constituted by Julio Benavides, professor of Musical Technologies at the Orson Welles Institute (Lima, Peru); Alfonso Padilla and Camilo Pajuelo, ethnomusicologists of the University of Helsinki (Finland); Gabriela Valenzuela, photographer and communicator specialised in visual anthropology (CRESPIAL) and Daniel Arroyo, librarian specialised in Information Sciences (CRESPIAL).
