Resource Book for Mainstreaming Gender in UN Common Programming at the country level
23 March 2015/ UNESCO Havana
The Spanish and French versions of the Resource Book for Mainstreaming Gender in UN Common Programming at the country level are already available online.
The Handbook, prepared by the United Nations Development Group Task Team on Gender Equality is a valuable tool for the timely integration of the gender perspective into all stages of the elaboration process of the United Nations Development Framework (UNDAF), namely, roadmap design, country analysis, strategic planning and monitoring and evaluation.
The handbook also includes boxes showing the best practices developed by several countries in gender mainstreaming during the UNDAF preparation, as well as methodological guides for data gathering, the definition of indicators, among other aspects.
According to the authors of the Handbook, the document will act as a complement to the Guidance Note on Gender Mainstreaming in Development Programming, since focuses on and provides concrete examples on gender mainstreaming in the specific context of the planning frameworks supported by the United Nations, such as UNDAF.
